Why not?

I feel like this is my first proper entry of 2010, which is strange because I've been updating every day. It's true, most of what I've been posting has been about a specific topic, so maybe that's why it feels like I haven't really discussed anything. Some would say my random posts aren't ever really about anything at all--and that's true--but it feels like there's a bit more of myself in them. For instance, when I tell you I'm back to work after a week-long vacation, you'll understand that I'm a little groggy today. Sleep was hard to come by last night, and today I'm not unlike one of George Romero's zombies--slow and stupid (possibly I will, if given half a chance, eat your brain).

Still, I probably feel less prone to update than normal because I've STILL got two stories pending, and I hate having things pending. It's ridiculous--they are two stories which I am enjoying very much--but, you know, I like working on things not because they're overdue. It's a thing. Anyway, let me say that my bleighton_squee fic has been a lot of fun to write, and both the organizer of that ficathon, the lovely bartzina13, and the recipient have been infinitely patient. I hope to have it done by tomorrow at the latest. Then I have to finish the pinch hit I picked up for skins_holiday. I must say, that ficathon went VERY well. We only had two drops and everyone gave really nice gifts. I was very pleased, and I hope everyone who got something liked what they received.

I don't have any real resolutions for 2010. I think mostly I just want to keep on being happy; I want to keep writing; I want to keep my health, and I want those I love to remain healthy as well; I want to keep having the awesome friends I have, and I'm grateful that a lot of the ridiculous drama that popped up in fandom seems to have disappeared, more or less. I do have immediate writing goals, obviously: finish what I've got pending (that includes Bedlam and SLI, which I admit is my albatross; I can't quit that story), for one.

+ I don't watch Lost anymore, I haven't for years, but these posters are totally, totally awesome.

+ I need to find out whether Fables is worth picking up.

+ Cache is on its way to me from ye Netflix. I admire Haneke's ruthlessness, I admit.

+ I don't watch Glee, so you wouldn't expect to find me reading Glee fic. Normally true, but I found this on Yuletide (I meant to do a recs post before the reveal, but then got too busy). Anyway, I shouldn't have been surprised, but tamaraface wrote an AWESOME Glee fic, which I will recommend without benefit of knowing canon: Easy As, which is Brittany/Santana, and made of so much win. SOLID GOLD, you guys.

So, I've been remiss in not saying how awesome all of my exchange goodies have been. I can't believe how lucky I was to get these amazing people to give me such wonderful gifts.

For skins_holiday I got the Most Amazing Vid (tied right up there with the vid the same Amazing Person made for To Bedlam and Part Way Back, which still blows me away; like, again, how lucky am I that I get to be friends with such cool people?) from shan_3414:



I admit. I watched this at, like, 2 in the morning and I hardcore flailed. This one goes on my iPod, for sure.

Oh, hello.

It's raining today, which was a surprise when I woke up at around ~10:30. First time I woke up, it was 7, and I probably could've done fine on 5 hours of sleep, but then I dozed off again and had a dream that involved most of the characters in Gotham Central. Which is what I get for reading that right before I fall asleep.

I also didn't realize that today is the thirtieth, which means that the stories I'm writing are due tomorrow and not Friday, as I'd previously convinced myself. Oh. OH. Yeah, I have work to do. *snerk*

I can't believe it's almost the end of 2009. There are so many things I wanted to get done, fannishly, that are still ~hanging. I'm still under some delusion that I can get a certain story done before Skins season 4 starts, but there isn't going to be any self-flagellation if it's not finished. The sooner the better, though, because I have a feeling I'll be wanting to write a ton of new stuff with the new canon.

Randomly, my favorite picture of the day has to be this one of Marc Jacobs posing for his boyfriend. A) Because it's hilarious, B) because I secretly wish I was in some Caribbean island where I could comfortably be wearing indiscreet swimwear. I'm cold. :( (Don't look up the temperature in SoCal, I'm sure it's probably colder where you are. Unless you're in Brazil, in which case, I envy you!!)

New layout! I may have spent all day yesterday looking for and customizing, but it was worth it. Also worth it? Gotham Central. It fucking ROCKS. I've learned my lesson though, so I'm going to take my time with it. I just finished Montoya's bit with Two-Face. NGHHH.

I very happy Skins s4 is back so soon. I've missed it so so much. Though the fact its only 8 episodes this year really depresses me. The new promo pictures came out today. There a bit....shit to say the least. There just not Skins. Saying that, its new stuff so im happy. And yay for the Naomily shot. I cannot wait for their stuff this season
